Our Committees
The State Independent Living Council (SILC) has established the following standing committees for the conduct of ongoing business and may form special committees when deemed necessary to carry out the function of the SILC.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is responsible for the fiscal, policy, and personnel functions of the Council in addition to the coordination of all Council activities.

The Outreach Committee is responsible for functions relating to outreach, public awareness, publications, and public forums, etc.

Program Committee
The Program Committee is responsible for the monitoring of contracts in addition to studies and analysis, support for centers for independent living (CIL), activities to improve current disability services, and demonstrations to expand and improve independent living services.

Policy Committee
The Policy Committee shall be responsible for activities related to the promulgation of rules and regulations, coordination of legislative activities, and development of periodic reports.

Planning Committee
The Planning Committee shall be responsible for the development and monitoring of the Council three-year plan, the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the State independent living three year plans, and the coordination of activities with other councils and State agencies.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee shall be responsible for all functions relating to Council membership, including recruitment, orientation and training, and retention.
